(September 8, 2017) They say that leadership can be boiled down to the ability to "cause cause." If this is true, then the recent fundraising partnership between Mas Sajady and the Lake Harriet Spiritual Community (LHSC) gives us a great example of what true leadership looks like.
These two spiritual forces, who have united many times over the years to serve the community, came together to conduct a packed-house fundraising event to raise money for the LHSC, a heart-centered spiritual center in Minneapolis that does daily events and local outreach that impacts the lives of thousands in Minnesota and beyond. Mas donated his time and energy to the LHSC because of the energetically pure nature of this organization and how much he believes in their mission of service.
This collaboration is even more relevant and timely because the LHSC plans to spend a majority of the funds generated to create an innovative mindfulness program for local law enforcement officers. Minneapolis has been in turmoil over the past few months due to the erroneous slaying of popular spiritual icon Justine Damond by Minneapolis police.
Mas was devastated by the news of her death and recently created an entire podcast in her memory, and is delighted that the LHSC is devoting the funds to such a worthy cause.
"The Lake Harriet Spiritual Center has always been a sanctuary of enlightenment and transformative events in my hometown," said Mas. "We have worked together for years to bring light to others; it is fantastic that they are going to create a program to support our police in make better decisions in the line of duty."
The event was such a success that Mas and the LHSC are considering making these fundraisers a regular addition to Mas' busy schedule. We will make an announcement if these become confirmed plans.
