The Great Experiment
We may not realize it, but as humans, we are embarked on an incredible and cosmically unprecedented journey of consciousness. We are a great and ambitious experiment that is still unfolding to fully embody pure consciousness in the extreme density and polarity of this physical world… To put this in its greater cosmic perspective: no other being in creation has ever come as far as this great human experiment you are living right now!
But there is more.
Our current times are truly extraordinary in human evolutionary history. All creation is currently undergoing a massive elevation in consciousness, which Mas calls a cosmic Purity Wave. Never before during our long sojourn on earth has such a drastic upgrade in consciousness not also meant our extinction. This is the first time humanity is able to ascend to a higher level of consciousness and not be wiped out, to start with a “clean slate”. It is a testament to how far we have advanced in our great human experiment!
It is important, then, to know that in spite of all the problems and challenges we still face, we are succeeding! It is also important that we do our best to understand the truth and the grandness of our nature and the mission we have set for ourselves.
Steps in the Journey
We’re attempting to experience the Limitless in a limited human body, bounded by matter, space and time. This integration or ”bottling” of spirit in a body is a tremendous feat of spiritual technology. Why is this such a challenging endeavor? Because we’re undertaking a “state change” of incredible proportions:

Frequency Filters & Distortions
So, how do we pull off this tremendous transmutation or “compression” from pure spirit (everything, everywhere, all at once) to embodied spirit (unique, localized, timebound)? The short answer is: frequency “filters”.
Everything in our realm is created with frequencies, by layering filter upon filter upon filter – very much like onion skins. It takes millions of filters to create the human you, starting with the very first filter of space-time down to every single detail of your body and personality. A simplified tree of your filters, top to bottom, could look like this (there are 1000s of filters, or “onion skin layers”, at each stage):

Distortions in filter frequency can appear at every stage, starting with the first filter, space-time. Distortions are either unnecessary or non-optimal versions of frequencies. At the human level we experience distortions in all sorts of ways: as emotional pain, physical disease, mental confusion, spiritual untruth, etc.
Filters exist to allow your spirit to render all possibilities of itself in this reality one possibility at a time, or as individual points in space-time. But every filter is also a layer separating you from your true nature as pure, undistorted, limitless spirit – in essence, dumbing you down.
This is a tradeoff needed for now as we continue to perfect our great human experiment. Yet the ultimate goal is to learn how to render our human form here but fromthe higher consciousness that we truly are, without the need to dumb ourselves down – or in other words, with the least number of filters.
Leap of Faith & Gradual Climb
We can describe our Great Journey – full-circle from Limitless Spirit to fully awakened human being – as a 2-step process:
A DESCENT: the “Leap of Faith” or “Original Fall” into space, time and matter. This is a descent to “ground zero”; a great “compression” and “dumbing down” from Pure Void to a discrete body with limited intelligence, knowledge, power and abilities. The enabling technology is space-time and the addition of layered frequency filters, which become fraught with distortions.
An ASCENT: the gradual and arduous climb in consciousness, the slow awakening to our forgotten and dormant true self. The goal is to live at Spirit level while in the body, or as Truth and human existence aligned. This is achieved by removing filters and distortions, and through a process XI calls “Inner Expansion” (which we will cover in future XI-Pedia articles).
This “Fall-to-Rise”* dynamic is illustrated by the Figure below:
*The Fall-to-Rise can be seen as a “Riches-to-Rags-to-Riches” story. The Gnostic “Hymn of the Pearl'' is an ancient allegory for this, the soul’s long journey away from, and return to, Home.
The pyramid represents how our consciousness/spirit body (blue curved lines) can expand and move up in consciousness level from the bottom-most level (Level 0) towards the top-level Truth of this reality at the apex.
The Ascent process is undertaken by your consciousness, while the physical body is always rendered at Level 0, the physical plane. As you remove distortions and filters and clean up your frequencies, your consciousness expands and effectively elevates in level. This is what the process of awakening is! An upwards pull to “meet your creator”, or your true Self at the top of the pyramid.
As a human being, you are in fact hardwired for two primary instincts: survival (of your physical form) and elevation (of consciousness) – every particle of creation is root-programmed with this same upwards pull. Our gradual Ascent, with “detours through all sorts of terrain” – pitfalls, distractions, dead-ends, walls – is what we have each been working towards with every incarnation of our spirit into a new body and personality. This is The Great Human Adventure!
